The Studies of Vinglastine-Bleomycin- Cisplatinum Combination Chemotherapy in Recurrent and Persistent Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Cervix The Response and Toxicities (I)

Abstract
The purposes of this studies were to evaluate the response and survival rate of vinblastine-bleomycin-cisplatinum (VBP) combination chemotherapy in recurrent and persistent squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix from March 1988 to December 1991 at
Dept.
of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Anam Hospital, Korea University Medical Center.
Fifteen patients received systemic combination chemotherapy of vinblastine-bleomycincisplatinum. The dosages were 5 mg/m* , 45 mg/m2, 50mg/m2 in vinblastine, bleomycin and cisplatinum respectively. Chemotherapies were repeated every 3~4 weeks
unless the
disease progressed or toxicities were severe.
@ES The obtained results were as the follows:
@EN 1. The response rates(complete response+partial reponse)were 33.3%.
2. The mean durations of response (complete response +partial response) were 21.2 months(range 5~44 months).
3. The average survival was 21.2 months, 21.4 months in response and non-response group respectively.
4. The toxicities were gastrointestinal toxicities(100%), alopecia(100%), myelodepression(86.6%)and nephrotoxicities(86.6%).
5. Other mild toxicities were hepatic, cardiac, neurologic and ototoxicity.
